Hog Trapping and Predator Control Around Canyon Lake, TX

Around Canyon Lake, the undeveloped shoreline and greenbelts behind many acreage lots give hogs and coyotes a place no one is managing. They bed there by day and work your property at night. We trap and control them on the steep, rocky ground where a standard trap setup often will not work.

LAKE COUNTRY

Corps Shoreline Gives Hogs a Refuge Behind Private Acreage

Much of the land around Canyon Lake is shoreline buffer, parkland, and greenbelt, and many acreage properties, including those in communities like Mystic Shores, share long boundaries with it. Hogs can rest in that cover through the day and cross onto private land after dark to root lawns, food plots, and feeders. The terrain adds its own challenge: thin soil over limestone, thick cedar, and steep bluff lines funnel animals onto a few usable routes and limit where traps and vehicles can go.

OUR SERVICES

Hogs First, Coyotes Close Behind

Hogs cause most of the visible damage around Canyon Lake, but coyotes travel the same brushy draws and shoreline cover, especially where homes keep pets and small livestock.

TRAPPING HOGS ON ROCKY GROUND

We find the few routes hogs actually use through cedar and limestone, then build or fit the trap to sit where the ground allows and the sounder already travels.

COYOTE CONTROL ALONG BRUSHY DRAWS

Coyotes use draws and shoreline brush to move unseen between properties. Tracks along those edges and missing poultry or pets are the signs to report.

FIREARMS

SAFE SHOOTING LANES ON BROKEN GROUND

Bluffs and cedar limit sight lines. Where firearms are legal and appropriate, shots are taken only with a clear lane and a safe backstop.

OPTICS

THERMAL WORK WHERE VISIBILITY DROPS FAST

Thermal optics show heat through cedar and darkness, so we can count hogs and locate predators that would be invisible otherwise.

TRAPPING

WHERE A TRAP CAN ACTUALLY SIT

On uneven ground, placement matters more than trap size. We set where hogs travel and the ground holds the trap steady.
